But when it comes from an individual\u2014especially one connected to the culture\u2014it resonates.\u201d<\/p><p data-start=\"2449\" data-end=\"2591\">For example, brands like Cookies succeed because its founder, Berner, as Lance puts it: \u201c[is] an individual that stands at the front of that brand. He advised that <strong>European cannabis companies must<\/strong> <strong>learn from the U.S. cannabis industry;\u00a0<\/strong>avoiding its mistakes\u00a0and adopting proven best practices. \u201cThere\u2019s so much experience on the other side of the pond,\u201d said Lance. \u201cWhy reinvent the wheel when you can build on what\u2019s already been figured out?\u201d<\/p><p data-start=\"3244\" data-end=\"3374\">Lance also draws a <strong>parallel between alcohol and cannabis<\/strong> saying, &#8220;In Northern California, the appellations are protected like wine regions. You can\u2019t label it Humboldt unless it\u2019s actually from Humboldt.&#8221; Lance suggests cannabis is evolving into a connoisseur&#8217;s market where terroir, genetics, and curing methods matter deeply. Thus, regional pride and production transparency can become powerful marketing levers. The only caveat is that cannabis prohibition has lasted far longer and is more regulatorily complex than alcohol\u2019s, making the industry development slower, more fragmented and highly dependent on public advocacy to push it into the mainstream. Now I want to work <em data-start=\"7757\" data-end=\"7761\">on<\/em> the industry&#8230; Speaking at universities excites me because that\u2019s where the next generation is coming from. Someone has to take the torch.\u201d<\/p><p data-start=\"7967\" data-end=\"8177\">His call-to-action for leaders? <strong>Invest in developing leaders in your company, and advocate for the industry\u2019s broader legitimacy in the public domain.<\/strong><\/p><p data-start=\"7967\" data-end=\"8177\">Lance emphasized, \u201cIt&#8217;s not about building a personal brand.
