Now in its 24th edition and second year in Bilbao (after the move from Barcelona), Spannabis remains Europe's biggest cannabis trade fair. The 2026 edition drew around 300 international exhibitors across three days, with attendance quoted as "tens of thousands." Cultivators, breeders, genetics and nutrient suppliers, growshops, extraction equipment vendors and a large consumer crowd all show up. Two co-located events give it extra weight: the Welt-Cannabis-Konferenz runs the policy and medical track, while the Cannabis Champions Cup crowns the year's top genetics. The new Sensory Zone with terpene workshops was a 2026 addition worth watching for how it evolves in 2027.

The International Cannabis Business Conference (ICBC) is the longest-running European cannabis B2B conference and the must-attend for anyone building in Germany. The 2026 Berlin edition pulled 5,000+ attendees from 80+ countries, 400+ exhibitors and sponsors across 15,000 square metres, and 50 speakers. Post-CanG, Berlin has become the centre of gravity for European cannabis capital, and ICBC is where investors, pharma distributors, clinics, social-club operators and Bundestag lawmakers actually sit in the same rooms.

Its standout format: it is the only European event that regularly puts German lawmakers on stage with global Licensed Producer (LP) CEOs. Roughly 90% of the world's largest LPs attend. This is the antithesis of the trade-show model, built around case-study presentations and round-tables aimed squarely at C-suite and heads of function. The pharma-channel focus is unusually heavy for a cannabis conference: 2026 put Four 20 Pharma, Aurora Europe and Canopy Growth on the same stage.

GLP-1 and longevity tracks dominated 2026 programming and are likely to carry through 2027.

The CBD and hemp-derived ingredients zone runs a meaningful minority of the floor and is where European wellness brands source. Worth budgeting for CBD-adjacent formulators, contract manufacturers, and any European brand chasing supermarket or pharmacy listings. Buds and Beats 2027 – The Cannabis Festival

Halle 622 is a 5,000+ capacity Zurich event venue, and Buds and Beats uses the full space to pair a serious trade floor with a two-day music festival. Specific 2026 attendee and exhibitor numbers aren't published yet, but the format is deliberately unique in the European calendar: the only major event that puts a proper cannabis expo alongside a live-music programme.

The Swiss pilot-project scene has quietly become one of the most interesting adult-use sandboxes in Europe, and Buds and Beats is where pilot operators, cantonal regulators and DACH-region brands compare notes. A useful pulse-check for anyone tracking regulated adult-use across German-speaking Europe.

CannaFestival 2027 – Karlsruhe

The 2026 edition brought 5,000+ visitors and 80+ exhibitors. Positioned as the only major cannabis event in Germany's south (the tri-border DE/CH/FR region), with heavy programming on Cannabis Consumption Act (KCanG) implementation and social-club setup. That policy angle is what sets CannaFestival apart from the bigger northern shows: it is the one place where practical, on-the-ground German legalisation questions get worked through with the operators and policymakers who are living them.

Worth a look for brands and operators wanting to reach the Rhine corridor without doing Berlin. A distinct DACH-plus-France audience that many pan-European operators overlook.
