Europe’s medical cannabis market has scaled from a regulatory experiment into a real industry. Germany alone imported over 200 tonnes of medical cannabis in 2025 and crossed €1 billion in sales; Portugal has 37 companies licensed to cultivate under Infarmed (with a further 150 in-process); the UK now has 57 prescribing clinics and a growing domestic supply chain. Yet a single, up-to-date reference of who does what, and where they are headquartered, does not exist in one place. This is our attempt at that reference.
Entries are organised by country of headquarters (not country of operation), then arranged alphabetically. Each entry lists the company’s primary role(s), HQ city, founding year, team-size band, and a brief description. This is Volume 1: Europe. Subsequent volumes will cover North America, Latin America, Oceania and Africa.
Living document. This directory prioritises companies with a live European medical cannabis licence, authorisation or specialism. Entries are verified as operating at date of publication; companies that have entered administration, exited the market, or been fully absorbed into a parent are not included.
